Jack and the Beanstalk!!

Today is Emma's last day of her Summer Academy. They are putting on a play of Jack and the Beanstalk. Emma got the part of the Mother. Go figure. She is perfect for this role. We dressed her up this morning in a skirt and top, apron, and a rag on her head. She looked so cute. You know you are going to have a great day when you drop your kid off and everyone goes on and on about how cute she is. Well if they don't do anything right for the rest of the day, they got this one right. She was so cute and excited I couldn't hardly contain myself. I got right teary eyed. What was also funny is that all Emma could talk about was how cute one of her friends was going to be. Julia was going to be the cow. Do you think Emma really realized that Julia is getting sold for FOOD!!

Sorry for the fuzzy pictures. My camera was on a weird setting!

More to come once I get to see the play.........

Birthday Party Fun

The girls went to a birthday party that had a wonderful clown. This was a great time, the clown did a magic show, balloon figurines, face painting, and there was a bounce house in the backyard. I felt like I was at a private carnival. Mimi the clown did a great job, and I now want her to come do a party for the girls. Not the house and all, just Mimi. She really enjoyed herself, and we all laughed really hard and enjoyed ourselves as well. Here are some pictures of the painting on the girls. It was no small potatoes. She really did it up, glitter and all!! I didn't take my camera to the party, I didn't think that I would want any pictures of the neighbor's party. I wished I had my camera, the kids really had a good time and I missed some good shots. Lesson learned!!

4th of July

Emma liked to write her name with the sparkler.
Not thrilled with this idea!

For the 4th, we went over to some friends house and cooked out and made homemade ice cream. It was so yummy. We had a great time, and once it got dark the kids did sparklers. Leah is not a fan, but Emma really liked them.

Marker Art!

Recently Leah called me downstairs to see this. She was so excited because, "Mama, I made my name." So big!!

Pool Fun

Just chillin!

"Are they twins." We actually get this question alot. They are making the same facial expression. Pretty neat huh?

This feels so silly!!

Trying to spray Eli.

I'm going through!!

We have really been enjoying going to the pool this summer. The kids are having a blast, and it is nice to be able to get some of their energy out. We try to go once a week, although I think we are going to have to start going 2 times a week to use up our passes. SHHH!! Don't tell the kids, they will be asking us everyday, "are we going to the pool!!" The pool has a really nice seperate area that is 10 inches, the kids really like that because they can use floats, and toys. They also have a spray yard, I have to admit that the adults have had fun using it as well. The kids never want to go home, no matter how long we have been there, but they are always worn out and usually fall asleep on the way home. Nice for everyone!!

Watermelon

Emma loves watermelon. She can't seem to get enough of it this summer. I remember a couple of years ago actually having to FORCE her to try some. Once she did, she wanted to eat as much as she could. Here are a few very sweet pictures of her at the pool enjoying some for a snack. A big thank you to Mr. Moss for taking these, while he joined us.

Frog Cookies

Later that afternoon, we made these cute froggie cookies. The kids really enjoyed making them and eating all the yummy ingredients while we were suppose to be putting them together. Leah was making most of hers with mix match eyes. Emma was making hers just right. Shock! Shock! I mean there is only one way to do it. The right way! These two are so different, sometimes I wonder how they came from the same two people. They sure don't look like they did. Why act like it!
Look at Leah's jaw. Do you have something in there?

"Look mama brown eyes like you and me!"

Finished Froggies!

Blue Bell Ice Cream

O.K. after we arrived in Texas, we visited with Uncle Nick and Aunt Katie for awhile and rested before church services. The next morning we got up and headed to the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory. What a good time we had there! It was really interesting, the most amazing thing to me is that it takes 50 thousand cows to produce enough milk for one day of ice cream production at the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory. I couldn't believe what they were saying. All of the cows that they get their milk from are no further that 200 miles from the factory. Man, there are some happy cow owners around there. Wish I had some cows in TX. We also got to taste the ice cream after our tour. It was a pretty good size sample too. Leah actually told the lady that she didn't have to give her that much. I said WHAT, take everything they will give you!! It was wonderful. They let the employees eat as much of the ice cream they want. A lot of the employees were on the hefty size. Not a place for ice cream lovers to work (AKA NANNY).Nick and Katie had actually bought some Blue Bell ice cream and had it in there freezer for us to enjoy while we were there, and we did, just about everynight. Sometimes after the kids went to bed. Mean parents!!We were standing in front of an old truck that they used for delivering the ice cream years ago. They have had to upgrade to the big rigs now!

They look so natural with kids!!

Emma got Mint Chocolate Chip, Leah got Rainbow. Yummy!!

This is where Emma stayed for the whole trip. Right next to Uncle Nick, not leaving his side. So sweet!
Brothers!! Trying to smile pretty in the sun. They actually look alike in this picture. I never thought that before.
