We Have A Swimmer!!!!

We just got back from a week at the beach. There was a great pool in the back yard. Emma has always been pretty "reserved" in the water. We go to the pool each week and she will play in the water all day and never get her hair wet. I amazes me each time. Well, we passed a bunch of mile stones this week. First of all, Emma went under the water. This is huge right by it's self. After I forced her to go under, I think she realized that nothing was going to happen to her. Then she started swimming a little across the pool, only where her feet could touch. But then she decided that she could swim all over the pool. I was totally shocked, she was like a fish all the sudden. She would even jump off the deep end (with her life jacket on), which is crazy.

Leah has always been a little more comfortable in the water. Her favorite thing was to do belly flops and cannon balls in the water. My nephew would shout CANNON BALL and jump in, so then each time Leah would jump in the water, she would scream CANNON BALL and try to soak everyone in the pool. We had so much fun spending time in the pool. The girls really soaked up a lot of sun!!!

Harvest Time!!!

Last night we picked tons of stuff out of the garden. We were so excited to see everything that was ready. We ate our cantaloupe today, it was pretty good. We also got 90 tomatoes and 3 bags of corn, bunches of peppers, and several butternut squash. I guess we will be eating some yummy stuff this week.

Santa Claus is Watching You!!!

After Emma got out of school for the summer, we decided to go to Wilmington for a couple of days. On the way to the beach Leah started asking about the song that talks about Santa knowing when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake. She wanted to sing this song, so we did. The whole time Emma is saying it is NOT Christmas time. Anyway... When we got down to the beach, look who showed up.........................

I think I may use this for a Christmas card this year. Emma was a little concerned that Santa didn't have his thick furry suit on. He told them he was there on vacation trying to catch a fish. I told Emma it was to hot to be wearing that big furry suit.

Kid's Say the Funniest Things...

Last night I was asked to sub Emma's bible class. It was very last minute, and I had no clue what we would do. I did manage to make it through with the help of google. I was able to find a crossword puzzle and a trusty old coloring sheet that went right along with what they were talking about. Anyhow, one of the girls in the class out of the blue told us that her Daddy told her that Jesus talkes to her in her heart. Well, she wanted to clarify that with me. She didn't understand how that was possible. I told her that if we read the bible we will know what God wants us to do, and that is how he speaks to us. She again insisted that her Daddy told her it was in her heart she would hear Jesus talking to her, and then she said, and I AM NOT HEARING A THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I thought I would die laughing inside myself. I did try to keep it to myself.

A few minutes later, she asked if we would go to hell if we didn't remember Jesus. (we were talking about the Lord's Supper). I told her that Jesus wanted us to remember him, he said so in the bible. She then said. Well, I forget about him all through the week, I only think about him on Sundays!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What Next!!

My child is going to do me in!! Leah of course!! I was on the computer and she walks into the room with this look on her face. I immediately knew something was up!! I said, "What did you do?" She said,"nothing". I said "what have you done?" She said again, "nothing." I am glad I pressed her!! I told her to show me what was going on, and then she says "I axadently put a bead up my nose!!!!! What!!!! accidentally!!! LEAH, YOU ARE GOING TO SEND ME TO THE NUT HOUSE!!! So I had to get out my ol' trusty tweezers. They have had two other shots at the nose before. Rolled up toilet paper, and other beads in both nostrils. Todd called right after I got the bead out and when I told him he said, "Oh my!! I thought those days were over!! Guess not, she always keeps us on our toes!! I did take a second and grab my camera so I could share it with you all!!

God Is So GOOD!!!

Look what we have in our back yard!!

We are so excited!! This is the second year we have grown a garden, and it looks like the Lord is going to be providing us with lots of fresh veggies again this summer. I love seeing all the plants grow and get bigger each day, but I really love it when you can see the food coming forth!! GOD IS SO GOOD!!! I can't even imagine how much money this is saving, but I know it is a lot. Our friends Jimmy & Jana are helping again this year, and Rachel & Randy jumped on board as well. We expanded our garden this year, and it spreads from one side of the yard to the other. Double what it was last year!! Oh, I can't wait to eat those veggies!! If everything grows and produces, we should have yellow squash, zucchini, maybe a few carrots (the jury is still out on those), cauliflower, butternut squash, cucumbers, cantaloupes, tomatoes, corn, bell peppers (three different colors), black eyed peas, crowder peas & green beans. A little later this summer we will be planting more beans, broccoli, spinach, and eggplant. I think that is it, I may have forgotten something, but we should have food of some sort!! This is a great opportunity for me to teach the girls about how God provides for us. He takes those tiny (some extremely tiny) seeds and turns them into some of the best food I have ever eaten!!

School's Out!!

Leah and Mrs. Laura

Leah finished up her 4 year old preschool class last week. She has had a great year, begged to go everyday, even on Monday and Friday, which are not her days to go. She has learned so much it is unbelievable, and she loved her teacher Mrs. Laura. Next year she will be in a Pre K class. She will be going to school Monday - Thursday 9:00-1:00, and hopefully she will be really ready for Kindergarten. Although her teacher says she is ready to go now, but the calender says she has to wait. She missed the cut off by only 9 days. I think she will love her teachers next year. They are super and a lot of fun. Watch out Mrs. Shannon and Mrs. Angela---here comes Leah, and she has quite the personality!!
